Parent education on the Montessori philosophy, freely available to all in
the community, is a cornerstone of the mission at Bergamo Academy.
Obviously, it's a way to attract propespective parents, as well as spreading the message by word of mouth. But more importantly, it's a way for Bergamo Academy to teach the parents of its enrolled students about Montessori and how to have a Montessori home. In this way, work done by the children at Bergamo Academy is complemented by work done at home. Parents who may not be in a position to send their children to Bergamo Academy at this time are encouraged to attend so that they may have a home environment in keeping with the Montessori pholosophy. The weekly Open Houses (check the home page to find out when the next one is) serve as a good "Montessori 101". Schedule for 2009/2010 To keep it easy to remember, parent education talks for 2009/2010 are on Thursdays.
